The R&D Division conducts research projects and technology maturation efforts to enhance the competition team’s capabilities. Beginning in fall 2022, the R&D division is developing a Vertical Take-off and Landing (VTOL) testbed for demonstrating the team’s ability to construct a VTOL capable aircraft. The goal of the R&D VTOL team is to have a robust VTOL system ready for competition integration by the beginning of Fall 2024.
